a) Maintenance
Types of washable floors with water:
- P.V.C.
(vinyl)
- Linoleum
- Concrete, cement
- Stones natural (marble,
granite, stone of France, sandstone, etc.
- agglomerated Flagstones
(terrazzo, terrazzo, etc)
- Polyurethanes
- Rubber (smooth, pastille)
-
vitrified Parquet floors
- Formicas, rolled
Many floors have a certain porosity and/or roughness, variable according to their nature. The stains penetrate in roughnesses of the coating and make cleaning more difficult.
A protected floor removes these disadvantages and thus facilitates cleaning and increases the productivity, hygiene and standing.
Protection is done containing polymers. For a surface which does not undergo too much of traffic one will use an emulsion rich in polymers, but in the majority of the cases one will have to employ the same product to pickle, protect and maintain.
Surfaces to be protected are the suspended linoleums, vinyls, tiled floors,
floors
with hospital standards etc. For the others one will be able to employ the
second choice.
First choice:
Scouring, followed
of a neutralization, because the polymers are fragile with the pH, and
application of the polymer emulsion. Maintenance must consequently be
neutral.
Second choice:
Use of a product with low content
polymers for maintenance and protection.
Description:
Cleaning containing soaps selected
for their grease-removing capacities with products of resistance to limestone,
solubilization to mix easily with water and of the dispersants to eliminate all
tough stains.
Powerful liquid, nourishes and protects the washable floors
with water and not protected, foam little, facilitating the rinsing (optional),
contains a filler for an easy maintenance. Pass everywhere, ideal for tilings,
marbles, granitos, terrazzo,
terra cotta, stones of size, floors porous or
old, etc... With an action cleansing on the level of the microbes.
b) Preparation
Scouring:
To dilute the liquid chosen
with necessary dilution according to the importance and of the type of stain, to dilute the solution on the
floor using a mop.
To let act from
5 to 20 min. according to the cases, and scour with the single-brush hard
disk. To rinse with water until neutralization, pH 7.
c) protection
To the quite dry and vacuum-cleaned
support, apply the polymer emulsion with one etendor of emulsion. To let dry
approximately 45 min., polish with single-brush and soft disc. Vacuum-clean
(impregnated gauzes) and start again the operation
with a more important
layer of polymers, let dry 1 hour.
The last layer must also be
polished.
For the new types of protection, more durable, it is possible to
combine the actions of natural and synthetic waxes while working on the
advantages of two waxes by the proportions of polymers in film.
The product
to be used for this treatment must be of an exceptional hardness to be durable
in time, leaves a film autolustrant and polishable.
Disadvantage: agitation
of the can before application and can leave a veil blanchâtre on the surfaces
sunk in the event of application on grounds of pH > to 7.
Particularly
advised on standard surfaces lino, vinyl, balatum...
The particularly
réticulé film is ideal like agent of protection of surfaces which can be
contaminated by bacteria.
d) Cleaning
De-dusting in daily newspaper and weekly neutral
washing.
Note: the maintenance of the linoleums and vinyls is also done with
the pH 7.
Pickling solution = pH 13
Protection = pH 9
Maintenance = pH 7
For the places with strong traffic one will choose other solutions:
A
product of cleaning for polymerizing purpose of protection.
Or a product of
waxing cleaning and neutral use.
Or a product of cleaning for industrial
grounds with strong clogging.
In the case of persistent cement milt after
installation of a tiling:
Employ products acid: attention it is a corrosive and acid substance:
pH
close to 0. Use the diluted product, to know the dilution of employment, to test
the tiling in a corner and to see at which time of dilution produces it do not
cause any more an acid attack on the support (foam formation), to use this
dilution to remove the cement residues and to rinse immediately after the
operation, because even if the acid attack of the product is not visible, in the
long run it remains corrosive for the support.
Special case of the floor suspended:
Composed of thick flagstones posed freely on studs, the space thus carried
out between the false floor and the cover is used in the passing of many
electric sons...
Moreover in room of computer, certain floors are envisaged
like electroconducting. I.e. like crest gate for the static accumulation of
electricity. On these floors the joints are sources of water
infiltration.
One thus does not clean them with water, but they should be
protected to allow one dry maintenance. Protection will be made in spray
method with soft disc high speed with vacuum cleaner incorporated to respect the
standards of rooms of computers. Maintenance using impregnated
gauzes.
For the grounds in rubber pastilles one cannot protect:
In
this precise case one will use a general-purpose product
2. NONWASHABLE FLOORS WITH A
WATER
a) Carpet:
three categories: natural fibres, mixed fibres
synthetic, fibres.
two supports: foam or fabric
types of installations:
free, stuck, tended
To avoid the contact of water with a carpet tended
laying, for the others it nevertheless is advised to test the behaviour before
washing.
Normal maintenance of the carpet:
To
pass the vacuum cleaner weekly, to detach according to needs, to disinfect spray
method, or method bonnet, annual shampoo or injection extraction.
Stain removal by universal product, disinfection, deodorization and shampoo
b) Drink:
The maintenance of the parquet floors can be
done with water only on the oak, for the others one will start by pickling,
produced to use: solvent and surface-active.
Method to be used single-brush
and hard disk and with the need Scotch tape mesh.
The protection of the
parquet floors is carried out by a waxing liquid and sometimes for reasons of
maintainability jointly with synthetic polymers or with polymerizable products
based on oil (siccative).
Polishing with the soft disc and de-dusting using
impregnated gauzes.
The addition of wax occasionally to preserve a standard
layer causes in the places little attended an accumulation of waxes, a partial
scouring by solvent in spray method is advised.
c) Liege:
For the case of the cork grounds, to
vitrify and clean then like a washable ground with water, but with neutral
products.
a) Walls
Plaster, concrete, stone, paper, textile, painting, glass,
stainless, tiling, earthenware, etc.
treatment by universal grease-remover
except for paper paints nonwashable and the textiles poses tended.
To take
precautions for the stuck textiles.
Stains met: nicotine, greases, dust,
etc.
For tougher stains like inks, rubber, etc.
To work with third
solvents, but with the precautions necessary for the respect of the
support.
For standard paintings graffiti, and outside, to employ the scouring
products.
b) Wood
Doors, casings, beams, pieces of furniture,
etc.
To employ the universal cleaning ones or specific products and to
protect according to the cases with the polish, lubricant, etc.
c) Windows
Methods different for small surfaces (sponges and
chamois) from large
surfaces (sprinkler, scraper and scraper)
The choice
of rubber is very important, flexible to marry the relief of the window and
rectilinear to avoid the traces (the edge also must be rectilinear).
The professional
windows liquid must be at speed of slow evaporation, action
demister, facilitate slips it, avoid an excessive tiredness of the user and
produce a stabilized foam which delimits greases-removed surfaces.
d)
Leathers
Treatment with precaution for leathers and cleaning universal
for imitation, look etc. Protection and easing with the cream for
leather (AXELLE)
E) Textile
Even treatment that for the stain removal of
the carpets, but preferably on the surface total (universal cleaning).
